Please continue reading down below to learn more about how our INVOcell specialist in Virginia Beach, VA can help you with your journey to parenthood.

What is INVOcell?

INVOcell is an advanced intravaginal culture system that allows egg and sperm to fertilize in a special container inside of your body. This can improve fertility in a more natural way compared to in vitro fertilization. The process of INVOcell happens in four main phases. First, the female will take hormone-based medications that stimulate the ovaries and encourage the growth of mature, healthy eggs. Next, your INVOcell specialist will remove your eggs from your ovaries. The retrieved eggs and sperm will then be placed in the INVOcell device. This will allow for fertilization and early embryonic development while the device is inside the vaginal cavity. Once the embryos are ready to be removed from the device, they will then be transferred back into the female’s uterus.

Is INVOcell cheaper than IVF?

Compared to in vitro fertilization, INVOcell is a cheaper option to treat infertility. It requires much less eggs, office visits, and hormone-based medications. Discuss with the specialists at The New Hope Center for Reproductive Medicine about your different financing options. We understand that there are many costs associated with fertility testing and treatment and want to ensure you can create the family of your dreams without worrying about these expenses. Our clinic accepts many different options including credit cards, personal loans, and financial assistance from Future Family.

Can you choose gender with INVOcell?

Gender selection can be done with PGT, otherwise known as preimplantation genetic testing. During this process, your specialist can identify the sex of an embryo and any genetic defects in embryos created through INVOcell. Though it can be performed in combination with INVOcell treatments, it can potentially make your overall treatment more expensive.

How long is the INVOcell process?

The ovarian stimulation process takes about 10 days. 35 hours after you finish taking your last injectable medication, your eggs will be ready for retrieval. This is an outpatient procedure that takes 10 minutes or less. The INVOcell device that contains your partner’s sperm and your eggs will then be placed into your vaginal cavity for around 3 to 5 days. After the 5 days are over, one or two of the embryos will be placed onto the uterus for implantation and development. If one of the embryos sticks, you will have a beautiful baby boy or girl in nine months. If the embryo doesn’t stick, you can try again using any additional embryos that were created in the INVOcell device and frozen for subsequent frozen embryo transfers.
