Gestational Surrogacy for Intended Parents
The New Hope Center for Reproductive Medicine in Virginia Beach VA provides gestational surrogacy options for intended parents including single men or women, LGBT couples, infertile heterosexual couples, older couples, cancer survivors, and interracial/bi-racial couples. For more information, call us today and schedule a consultation.

The New Hope Center understands the excitement and stress involved in becoming a parent through gestational surrogacy. Couples must try to navigate a third-party reproductive arrangement, when most have little to no understanding about it, which makes the process quite daunting. At New Hope, our Third-Party Coordinator is here to assist and guide you through the steps of this process. It is our goal to ensure all the necessary steps are completed appropriately and in a timely fashion, while allowing for a stress-free and positive experience for the intended parent(s).
Basic Qualifications for Intended Parents:
Intended Parents seeking services at The New Hope Center must meet the following basic qualifications:
- Must be committed to building a respectful and honest relationship with their Gestational Surrogate/Carrier
- Willing to undergo a Criminal Background Check
- Willing to undergo a Psychological evaluation
- Willing to undergo required FDA and other medical assessments
- Willing to follow medical protocols
Getting Started as an Intended Parent:
Step 1: Complete and submit the Intended Parent Application to our office, in accordance with the directions outlined within.
Step 2: Once your Application is APPROVED, schedule a new-patient appointment with our office, to review your medical history and treatment goals with a physician, along with discussing the available treatment options best suited for meeting your needs – “devise a treatment plan”.
*Payment for the Intended Parent(s) Third-Party Administration Fee is due at this time/appointment.
If you are a current New Hope Center patient/couple and have already discussed your treatment options in combination with Gestational Surrogacy, a Financial Counselor will contact you to collect payment for the Intended Parent(s) Third-Party Administration Fee. Once paid, the Third-Party Coordinator will contact you regarding Step #3 (below).
Step 3: If you have a “known” gestational carrier, the Third-Party Coordinator will schedule her for an appointment to discuss the screening and treatment processes, and other program requirements. After, you will be scheduled to meet with the Third-Party Coordinator.
If you are planning to use a gestational carrier you do not know (at the present), you will be scheduled for an appointment to meet with the Third-Party Coordinator to discuss this process in greater detail.
Step 4: The Coordinator will outline the required medical and psychological screening to be completed by the Intended Parent(s), based on your selected ART treatment plan. They will assist you in scheduling all needed appointments for completing this process.
*You will be offered a list of contacts for seeking legal counsel to work with you in drafting the required Parent/Gestational Carrier Contract.
Step 5: Secure legal counsel to draft (and complete) your Intended Parent/Gestational Carrier contract. Once the contract is signed by all parties, instruct counsel to provide a letter of confirmation to The New Hope Center.
*The New Hope Center must receive confirmation that a fully executed contract is in place, prior to the initiation of any ART Treatment cycle.
Step 6: ART Treatment begins!
